Lina
In the beginning everything was smooth. They packed the stuff properly and put everything in the inventory (the living room). However, when Household Goods inspector left they started packing in such a subpar and disrespectful manner I can only relate to if my belongings were trash that they were disposing of. After asking them to handle my belongings with care they ignored me and continued to mistreat my belongings as well as roll their eyes and sigh as if I was in convincing them.
1. For example, they attempted to put wet basins, books, clothes, and fine china in one box without sorting the items, they put very little thought, effort, showed no attention to details by grabbing the first thing they seen and forcefully shoving items into a box regardless if it was fragile. When I ask them to redo the job they continued to roll their eyes and sighing as if I was asking them to do something that was not included in their responsibilities. Their attitude was absolutely unprofessional and presented such a poor representation of your establishment I recommend people of this stature must be fired immediately.
2. Please note that I wrote you several times that we live in a furnished house and use primarily our landlord's belongings (starting with furniture and ending with silverware). Our furniture and all other personal belongings (home decor, kitchen supplies, along with the majority of clothes, shoes and handbags) are absolutely new. When I asked the packers to indicate details in the inventory they refused to do so, saying that they cannot go into details and cannot spend in my house more than two hours. Therefore, the inventory that they forced me to sign is INACCURATE AND INCOMPLETE.
Despite my numerous requests, they did not include in the inventory my brand new Dyson vacuum cleaner, Samsung microwave, crystal beer steins from Germany, Sur la Table cookware, sheet pants, Wursthorf knives, Kitchen Aid toaster, Scanpan Pro IQgriddle, Kitchen Aid electric kettle, food processor, Rowenta steam iron, Goebel crystal glasses and vases, Keurig Coffee Maker, etc. I do not mention numerous fine china figurines that cost hundreds of dollars as well as my Chanel, Coach, Prada, Tory Burch, DKNY, Ivanka Trump, Calvin Klein shoes and handbags, etc.
3. Also, when I wrote with my own hand in their inventory that my stuff that they packed is new and in the original packing they crossed it out they that I cannot write it because everything that they put in the boxes is not going to be new according to the military rules.
If something is going to be lost or damaged, it would be hard for me to prove what they put in the boxes because they mixed everything up, very expensive and comparatively cheap stuff, unworn shoes and handbags and those that I already worn without specifying what exactly is included in each box, making it impossible for any inventory to be accurate. As I mentioned several times, I do not want to receive $100 for a brand new item that in reality costs $1,000. I quite often shop in Europe (I buy mainly china figurines and bronze statues) and I do not have paper receipts for all items that I have. Mark, please note that I mentioned that in our telephone conversation today. However, nothing was done from your side.
3. The packers told me that they cannot put my perfume in boxes. However, now all packs of my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, Lavandes Trianon Mainson Lancome, Sky di Giogia, Giorgio Armani, La vie est Belle, Live Irresistible, Poison Girl Dior perfume along with a pair of scissors are missing. I do not know whether they packed them or just stole it.
Also, Mat was pointing on my handmade bronze falcon 24 carat gold plated sculpture. It was so confusing as if he wanted to have it. I would not be surprised if it was missing when we move to VA.
4. When the packers dissembled the mirror and the dresser they told me that the driver should put it in his own inventory. However, when they packers disappeared (see p. 7 below) the driver refused to do so saying that since the packers had packed the mirror he cannot include it in his inventory and bear a responsibility for items that he did not pack. Please note that the mirror is a part of the bedroom set and it can be ordered only in California and Arizona. If it is lost or broken, you will need to buy a new mirror and dresser for me.
5. The packers refused to provide cardboard boxes for majority of my items saying that they do not have enough boxes and just used boxes that I gave them. If I had not provided them with packing materials like bubble wrap, packing peanuts and my own towels, they would have put my mirror in a box, without protective material inside and ship it like this.
6. Please also note that the packers refused to re-pack the brand new glass table despite the fact that I explained to them several times that when I was buying the table the sales assistants did not properly pack the item. Since the packers refused to re-pack the table, the chances of the table being destroyed in transition from here to VA increased significantly. However, they replied that they do not have boxes for my glass table. After the packers disappeared without completing the inventory properly (see p. 7), the driver told me that most likely the glass is going to be broken since the packers had not bring a crate.
Please note that I mentioned about this brand new glass table and my brand new bed set several times in our telephone conversations, including the email below. However, it was totally ignored.
I had to provide the driver and his assistant with all packing materials that I have and even had to give away my new towels that we had to put around our new furniture to protect it against scratches because the packers just disappeared without saying a goodbye (see p. 7). I do not think it is professional for packers to come without any proper packing materials and roll their eyes every time I ask them to pack the stuff properly and then run away. This is not my responsibility as their customer to provide them with everything. If they are short on boxes and paper or the military refuses to pay for it, Andrea from Cardinal Van should have told me about that beforehand instead of saying that their "very professional and have all necessary packing materials".
7. Packer Mat told me that we needed to review the inventory and once we are done they will continue packing my stuff. After forcing me to put my signature on his papers (he told me that the driver would prepare a separate inventory for furniture) and telling me that everything is 100% insured and I will get a 100% reimbursement even if the inventory is not complete and accurate, he said that he needs to grab some boxes from his car and that he would come back to help the driver to pack my mattress and springs box, as well as other stuff that needed to be packed. However, he left and never came back. As a result, I was left with unpacked stuff. I will need to go to the post office and ship it to Virginia spending my own money. Unfortunately, we do not have too much space in our cars.
8. When I called Cardinal Van their representative Andrea told me that that since I already signed the papers nobody is going to come pack. As I mentioned above, I was told by packer Mat that he would come back to continue packing the remainder of my belongings that was left in the house and helping the driver with the furniture and mattress. Andrea was very rude and disrespectful not willing to help at all. She said that I have to pack the rest of the stuff on my own together with the driver. She even refused to give her last name because it was obvious that she is afraid to take responsibility. I even doubt that Andrea is her real name.
As a result, I had to help the driver and his assistant to carry pack, carry in the truck all the bedroom set, table, mirror and spring box.
9. Also, I did not like the fact that the driver started pointing at slight discoloration on my new beds set calling these "scratches". I have a video that was taking on that day showing that my furniture is new and there are no scratches on it. It is very unprofessional to make up stories like these to absolve himself of responsibility.
