Tim Morrison
Our move from Chattanooga, TN to Florence, SC started out as a good experience for the estimate only. We moved in September, 2018. On the day of loading, our movers were late by almost 3 hours. We had to get all of our furnishings out of our home so the final walk-thru could be completed. We were pushed for time the entire day due to the movers being late. The movers did not complete the pick up on the first day so they had to come back out the next day to finish. Allied(Main Street Transfers) agreed to deliver our load to Florence, SC on September 28th. We received a call the day before stating that they could not deliver on this date, but could deliver on September 29th. Our furnishings were delivered on September 29th, 1 day late. Main Street Transfer agreed to pay for our hotel and food expense for the 1 day of being late. Per Tim at Main Street, he would send the money with the driver to reimburse us. He did not send the money like he stated. The driver called Tim and he stated that he would overnight us the check. Still have not received the money.
We did have damage for our shipment and we submitted a claim on October 15th. No acknowledgement via phone, text, or email stating that they have received our claim. Tim at Main Street will not call us back and has never made an attempt to settle the claim. Finally, I contacted the customer service department of Allied's corporate office. After several attempts to get this resolved, I had to threaten them with a lawsuit just to settle the claim.
The customer service department at Allied needs the reference number on the Bill of Lading. Main Street Transfer did not place a reference number on the Bill of Lading so their customer service could not help with resolving the claim. Tim at Main Street never returned their call, but finally Robert stated they will cut and mail a check on 11/2/18. As of today, no check.
Takeaways from this experience with Allied (Main Street Transfer), Chattanooga, TN.
1. If you want to have a smooth transaction with great customer service, then don't go to Allied Vans(Main Street Transfer, Chattanooga, TN.
2. If you use this company, make sure they put a reference number on your Bill of Lading. If they do not as in our case, then no one at their corporate office can help you. I am still waiting on my reference number from Tim at Main Street Transfer. Still no response from him, 3 weeks later.
3. If you want someone to help settle your issues with their company, then go somewhere else. Do not use Main Street Transfer as you will not have a good experience.
Good customer service is essential for a successful company. I am really surprised that Main Street Transfer is still in business with the issues that I have experienced.
Tim at Main Street Transfer has never made an attempt to resolve the issues with this move. As of today, 11/7/18, I have still not received our check for damages, hotel/food expense, and still waiting on my reference number which no one can provide. Sounds a bit shady on their part.
I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and hopefully, this issue can be put to rest.
If you want crappy customer service, no return phone calls, emails or texts on the issues with your load, then this is the company for you.
I hope this review is helpful for people when considering this company.
